Here's the equation that inspires my work: love of design + love of nature. Add them up and the sum of these two passions equals contemporary jewelry that incorporates leather, beads & felted wool as well as organic materials (e.g. stones, driftwood) and found artifacts (e.g. beach glass). I collect some of these things during my Lake Michigan beach walks. I tell people I'm working.
I'm a self-taught metalsmith and have been making jewelry for 37 years. Born in NYC. Raised in Atlanta, GA. My other bona fides include: coursework in interior design & graphic art at the American College of Art. Northern Michigan has been my home since 1987. I've lived in Traverse City since 2000, where I've also renovated 5 homes and 2 commercial buildings. I live happily with my dog, Calla MacCalla, who accompanies me to my studio every day.
